From our Head of Student Learning & Support, Koren White
This year, we’ve been excited to witness a season of growth and transformation within our Student Learning and Support team. Our commitment to nurturing every student’s God-given potential remains at the heart of our mission, and this year, we are embracing a renewed approach to inclusive education that reflects our values and purpose as a community. We’ve restructured our team to ensure that every student is seen, valued, and supported in their unique journey.
This year our counselling team has been integrated into the Student Learning and Support department, bringing emotional, social, and academic care together in a more holistic approach. Our counsellors will partner with staff to help nurture the whole child: mind, heart, and spirit. This includes the addition of small group social skills programs to support students to develop social relationships, self-awareness, and the confidence needed to thrive in all aspects of life.
We also welcome new specialist staff with expertise in supporting teachers to deliver best practice support that will further enhance our ability to meet the diverse needs of our learners. With these new additions, we are better equipped to honour the unique talents that God has placed within each student, ensuring that all can flourish in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Our prayer is that through these efforts, every student will grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically, and experience the fullness of God’s design for their lives.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside our families in 2025, celebrating the growth, resilience, and unique beauty that God has placed in each of our students.

Coins for Compassion Day
We are excited to be holding another Coins for Compassion day on Friday, 4 July. The day will be similar to those in the past with the Primary School having a class competition for the longest line of coins and the Secondary School holding a Fair with Connect groups running stalls. The day is out of uniform and is a great way to end the term.
As a College, we sponsor six children through Compassion Australia, a Christian international development organisation that supports children living in poverty. We desire that students at Belmont Christian College develop compassion and concern for children living in poverty around the world.
Over the years, we have raised $60,000 for the sponsorship of our children and the work of Compassion. Our College staff sponsors Byron from Uganda, and the student body sponsors Chepkemoi Ruth from Kenya, Dodong from the Philippines, and Petrha, Stevi, and Zilphin from West Timor.
This year, we are endeavouring to raise $5,000 to sponsor our children for the next twelve months and provide family gifts for each family. We also aim to raise an additional $5,000 to contribute to Compassion‘s unsponsored children’s fund.
Primary School students can pre-order their lunch. The children are able to purchase a meal deal with a sausage sizzle, drink and small packet of chips. Orders can be made through Munch Monitor.
Secondary students will have a range of food options to purchase on the day from stalls.
Please note that the canteen will be closed on Coins for Compassion Day.
Thank you for your support in this fundraising event. It is our deep hope that our students will develop a true empathy and compassion for those in the world who live in poverty.

Uniform Shop Closed for Holidays
The Uniform Shop will be closed for the July School Holidays. Any online orders placed during the holidays will be packed and/or posted out when the shop opens in Term 3 on Tuesday, 29 July.

Sport News
Zone Netball and Soccer
Our Primary Netball and Soccer teams recently travelled to Tamworth for a fantastic day of competition in their respective Zone Gala Days. Despite the early 5:20 am departure and brisk winter winds, our students were full of energy and excitement.
Throughout the day, our teams displayed exceptional sportsmanship and school spirit. From cheering each other on to supporting teammates on and off the court, they represented our College with pride and integrity.
The Junior and Senior A netball teams were undefeated throughout the day, showcasing impressive skills and teamwork.
Our Junior team had a particularly strong performance in their Grand Final, finishing their day with a commanding 18-5 win over MidCoast, to be crowned Zone Champions!
The Senior A team narrowly missed a clean sweep, heartbreakingly going down by just one goal in the final moments of their Grand Final.
The Senior B team also deserves special recognition, with a mix of new players and combinations, many of whom had never played together before, they gelled quickly and played with heart and determination.
On the soccer field, the Junior Boys team gave it their all in every match. While they didn’t come away with a win, their effort never dropped. They pushed through each game with grit and determination, highlighted by a brilliant hat-trick from Lachie Urane, proving they were more than capable of finding the back of the net.
The Senior Boys team had a strong showing, going undefeated through the pool stage. They held Wyong, the eventual winners of the day, to a 0–0 draw in a tense and tactical match. Unfortunately, after playing back-to-back games, they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Green Point in a hard-fought 3–1 battle.
After a long day of games, the teams returned around 9:00pm, tired but proud. Their positive attitude, commitment, and enthusiasm made the day a memorable and successful one.
Well done to everyone involved!
CSSA Junior Girls Soccer
In Week 7, our Junior Girls Soccer team travelled to Sydney for the CSSA State competition. With their zone event earlier in the term washed out by heavy rain, this was the first time the girls had played together as a team, many of them trying competitive soccer for the first time!
Despite limited preparation, the girls showed incredible determination, positive team spirit, and growth across the day. After a tough pool round, with one win out of three, the team faced our local rivals Charlton Christian College in a spirited playoff. With pride and honour on the line, our girls came away with a 2–1 victory, finishing the day on a high!
A huge thank you to the parents who came down to coach and support the team, it made all the difference. We’re so proud of these girls for their courage, teamwork, and willingness to step outside their comfort zone, using their gifts to honour God on and off the field.
Primary Senior Girls Soccer
After the Girls Zone Gala Day was washed out with all of our recent rain, our side had to play a playoff game against Charlton to seal a spot in the NSW CSSA Finals.
Both sides went into the event without having the opportunity to train together, but that was only the start of it. In the end, the game was played in cold, windy and rainy conditions on a waterlogged pitch that really forced the game into what could only be described as a ‘kick-fest’. With puddles everywhere, there was no opportunity for flowing ball movement and the game itself became a cluster of players fighting for a chance to get their foot on the ball. BCC dominated the game, continually on the edge of their opponents 18 yard box, but unable to get a good shot away in the tricky conditions, bolstered by the opponents heavy defence.
In the end, a moment of individual brilliance from an opposing player saw us go down 0-1 with just 90 seconds remaining in the game. It was a tight tussle, but in the end it was not our day.
Our rain-soaked girls however will probably remember that game more for the atrocious conditions that they had to endure.
Our big thanks to Charlestown FC for setting up and allowing us to use their ground in such trying circumstances.

Hunter Zone Basketball Gala Day
The BCC Junior and Senior girls teams recently competed in the Hunter Zone Basketball Gala Day, showcasing incredible talent and athleticism.
The Junior Girls displayed remarkable skill, finishing a commendable third in Division 1. Whilst the Division 2 team had a truly inspirational day winning all their games and securing the win to take out the division for the second year in row. Their teamwork and dedication were evident throughout the day.
Meanwhile, both the Senior Girls teams demonstrated exceptional endurance and basketball prowess, narrowly losing their respective semi-finals, with only a limited number of players.
Their performance was outstanding, reflecting their hard work and passion for the sport. Both teams represented the College with pride, and we look forward to seeing them continue to excel in future competitions. Congratulations to all players!
Boys Futsal Gala Day
Last Friday, 13 June, marked an exciting day at Maitland Basketball Stadium as our Junior and Senior boys showcased their skills at the Futsal Gala. Despite narrowly missing the grand final, our Junior boys displayed remarkable teamwork and determination, while our Senior boys secured a commendable third place finish. THANK YOU – Alice in Wonderland
What an unforgettable journey down the rabbit hole! In a world where growing up
can feel all too fast, Alice in Wonderland reminded us to slow down and hold onto
the wonderment of childhood a little longer. With talking flowers, curious creatures,
and impossible tea parties, Alice showed us that imagination, wonder, and play are
just as important as growing up.
As Producer of this year’s Secondary Musical Alice in Wonderland, I’d like to extend
my heartfelt thanks to our entire College community. To our dedicated Executive Team
and Board Members – thank you for your unwavering support and encouragement.
To our incredible staff, tireless helpers, and enthusiastic parents – your time, effort,
and belief in this production made all the difference. To our brilliant students –
onstage, backstage, and behind the scenes – your talent, resilience, and teamwork
brought this whimsical world to life. And to our wonderful audiences – thank you for
your cheers, your laughter, and the energy you brought to each show.
This production was a true celebration of community spirit and collegiality. From
months of rehearsals to the adrenaline of opening night, the journey was one of
growth, joy, and shared success. Your support helped transform this show into an
overwhelming triumph, and it will remain a cherished memory for all involved.
With deepest gratitude,
Kate Donaldson

Society and Culture PIP Excellence
Each year, our HSC Society and Culture students undertake the rigorous challenge
of developing a Personal Interest Project (PIP) — a substantial, self-directed
research task that explores a contemporary social issue through a variety of
methodologies. This major work demands not only extensive analytical writing and
annotated documentation, but also the generation of original primary research, often
in the form of interviews, surveys, and focus groups.
This year, Zac Williams, one of our highly motivated Year 12 students, has achieved
an exceptional milestone in his PIP journey. As part of a timely investigation into the
spread of disinformation within political discourse and election campaigning, Zac
conducted exclusive interviews with two prominent political figures: Malcolm
Turnbull, the 29th Prime Minister of Australia, and Laura Schwartz, a leading U.S.
correspondent and Former White House Advisor. These high-level conversations will
form a cornerstone of his primary research and reflect both intellectual ambition and
a clear commitment to future pathways in politics and journalism.
We extend our best wishes to all Year 12 Society and Culture students as they
continue to pursue their diverse, insightful, and impactful PIP projects.
