From our Head of Primary, Mr Chris Stewart
This term, our Primary School has been exploring the famous quote from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount known as the Golden Rule: “Do to others as you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12). This simple yet meaningful principle can have a profound effect on our College culture, guiding our students to appreciate the value of manners and etiquette in every interaction they have each day.
At morning assemblies, we discuss how the Golden Rule applies to various situations in the College environment. For instance, when delivering messages to a class, students are learning to speak clearly and respectfully, just as they would appreciate others doing for them. When addressing our valued office staff, we’re practising polite requests, remembering that kindness and consideration go a long way. We’ve emphasised the importance of treating our playground environment and toilets with respect. Caring for shared spaces demonstrates consideration for everyone in our College community.
The Golden Rule encourages empathy and understanding, and with thoughtful intention, our students are improving their manners and developing essential life skills that will benefit them far beyond their schooling years here at BCC.

Prayer and Praise
BCC Prayer Warriors
We are privileged to be able to run a monthly prayer morning. It’s a treat to pray for new families, students and staff, share some coffee and cake and enjoy great conversation. Everyone is welcome to join us on the first Tuesday of each month from 8:45am – 9:30am to pray alongside parents and local churches. Come for a bit, or come for the whole time.
Please sign-in at the College Office. We meet near the Weathershed in the College Garden. Simply follow the signs.
For more information or to ask for personal prayer, please email prayerwarriors@bcc.nsw.edu.au.
Thanks to Wendy for the nice reminder that prayer is about relationship, it is not a ritual …. “As we pray “Our Father in heaven,” God answers by imparting a childlike love and trust to our souls. When we address God as Father, every prayer transforms from ritual to relationship.” How beautiful is that picture of us calling on our Heavenly Father, and in response to that acknowledgement, He floods our souls with love and trust in Him.
Check out the prayer focus areas and upcoming dates in the image below.
Prayer Points:
- College Vision & Purpose: Pray that our College continues to be a place where God’s purpose is evident in all that we do. May our vision remain aligned with His plans, and may our leadership, staff, and students be guided by faith, wisdom, and love. Pray for strength, unity, and inspiration as we move forward into all that God has for us.
- New Finance team members: Pray for Kevin as he joins us as a Finance Officer, working two days per week. Pray also for Nimali as she moves into an Assistant Finance Officer role, taking on additional responsibilities in accounts payable while continuing payroll processing. May both of them feel welcomed, supported, and equipped for their new roles.

Cross Country Carnival
Belmont Christian College holds its annual Cross Country Carnival for all students from Years 2 to 12 at Croudace Bay Park. This year it will be held on Tuesday, 18 March. Students should be at Croudace Bay (near the basketball court/ tennis wall) at 9am. Beginners to Year 1 will have normal classes at the College.
As with our other carnivals, where possible, we ask that parents transport students to and from the Carnival. College buses will be running to and from the College for those who cannot make their own way to Croudace Bay Park. These students need to arrive at the College by 8.40am, meeting under the weathershed.
There will be supervision for students back at the College following the carnival if parents are unable to take their child from the carnival.
We will be holding a BBQ cooked back at the College for any students returning to school who wish to order a sausage sandwich lunch. Information about ordering will be distributed shortly.
Cancellation due to inclement weather will be advised through the Sentral Parent App.
Parents are encouraged to attend and support the day.

Introducing our new Staff
Mr David Currer – School Psychologist Intern
What is my prop all about?
The nature objects represent my love for the beach and spending time outdoors. The tennis racquet represents my favourite ball sport among the many I enjoy.
What church ministries excite me?
Working alongside kids and youth.
What does a lazy afternoon look like for me?
Some level of activity feels best for me, whether it’s going for a ride down to the beach on the e-bike with the kids, going for a surf, going for a run, or taking a walk in Glenrock.
The best thing about working at BCC is…
Working within an incredibly welcoming, friendly, and supportive team of people who share a common faith in Jesus Christ.

Miss Sarah Bate – Secondary Teacher
What is my prop all about?
Most of what I own is currently in storage for a while; but I do have this patchwork Batman Pop vinyl. I do like Batman and comics, so at least the prop is still relevant.
What church ministries excite me?
I really enjoy Youth Ministries and the Welcome Team.
What does a lazy afternoon look like for me?
I would spend time with my dogs either going for long walks or relaxing at home.
The best thing about working at BCC is…
I have found all the people to be amazing!

Mrs Rachael Crosher – College Nurse
What is my prop all about?
I love to travel! I have had the privilege of visiting many different countries throughout my life and I’m so excited to keep exploring God’s beautiful creation.
What church ministries excite me?
I absolutely love youth and young adults ministries! I’m so grateful to be a youth leader at my church and love seeing young people grow and come to know God.
What does a lazy afternoon look like for me?
Going for a walk on the beach in the afternoon sun with my Husband, and then getting comfy at home with a book on my Kindle or a good TV show.
The best thing about working at BCC is…
Working with supportive and kind staff while looking after our lovely students!

Belmont Community Care
What a blessing! At our End of Year festival we managed to raise and donate a total of $4,925.46 to help our neighbours in need right here in Belmont. We pray that this money might go into the community and have a great impact as we trust it to our God who multiplies and his work through Belmont Community Care.
The Christmas hampers collected by our students and presented at the End of Year Festival have now found their way to homes in need across our community. These generous gifts have provided comfort and practical support to so many, making a real difference in people’s lives.
Donations of food continue to be appreciated, helping to restock the food store and ensure Belmont Community Care can keep serving those who need it most.
Right now, there’s also an opportunity to lend a hand! Volunteers—whether for a short time or ongoing—are needed to help cook and set up for Monday afternoons, where free meals are served to those doing it tough. If you’re available, your support would be invaluable. If you think you could lend a hand contact b.roach1@bigpond.com
Most importantly, we ask that you continue to keep Belmont Community Care in your prayers. As the social justice arm of Belmont Baptist Church, they work closely with the College to support those in need, and we believe prayer is just as vital as any practical assistance we can offer.
Thank you to everyone who has given, served, or prayed—it all makes a difference!

We’re launching a local Church & Youth Group Directory
We are excited to announce a local Church and Youth Group Directory. It is our hope these might be a valuable resource to our BCC community and especially think of new families as they join our College.
We are now updating the directory to include those churches and youth groups attended by our families. We would appreciate submissions to either update and correct or add new Churches and new Youth Groups. To nominate your church or youth group, or to update its details, click the join our directory button at the top of the pages:
